Introduction

Welcome to Lawyer Wala. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Lawyer Wala website, services, and associated applications (collectively, the “Platform”). By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Platform.

1. Definitions

  • “Platform” refers to the Lawyer Wala website, its subdomains, and any related services provided by us.

  • “User,” “You,” or “Your” refers to any individual or entity that accesses or uses the Platform, including Clients and Lawyers.

  • “Lawyer” refers to a licensed legal professional who has registered on the Platform to offer legal services.

  • “Client” refers to a User seeking legal services from a Lawyer through the Platform.

  • “User Content” refers to all information, data, text, or other materials submitted, posted, or displayed by a User on the Platform.

2. The Role of Lawyer Wala – Legal Services Disclaimer

2.1. A Neutral Venue. The Platform is a marketplace that connects Clients with independent legal professionals. Lawyer Wala is not a law firm and does not offer or provide legal advice, legal representation, or any form of legal services. Our role is strictly limited to providing a technology platform to facilitate communication between Clients and Lawyers.

2.2. No Attorney-Client Relationship. Use of the Platform does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and Lawyer Wala. Any attorney-client relationship formed is strictly between a Client and their chosen Lawyer.

2.3. Independent Professionals. Lawyers on the Platform are independent contractors, not employees, agents, or representatives of Lawyer Wala. We are not responsible for the conduct, advice, or quality of service provided by any Lawyer. We do not endorse or guarantee any Lawyer or the information they provide.

3. User Obligations and Conduct

3.1. Eligibility. To use this Platform, you must be at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.

3.2. Account Security. You are responsible for providing accurate and current registration information. You are also solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

3.3. Prohibited Conduct. You agree not to use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or to:

  • Submit false, misleading, or inaccurate information.

  • Infringe upon the intellectual property rights of others.

  • Harass, abuse, or harm another person.

  • Violate any applicable laws or professional regulations.

4. Lawyer-Specific Terms

4.1. Professional Standing. Lawyers represent and warrant that they are licensed to practice law and are in good standing in the jurisdictions in which they offer services.

4.2. Ethical Conduct. All lawyers must adhere to the rules of professional and ethical conduct applicable to their jurisdiction. Any breach may result in immediate suspension or termination from the Platform.

5. Payments and Fees

5.1. Service Fees. Clients agree to pay the fees for services as agreed upon with a Lawyer. Lawyer Wala may charge a platform or transaction fee, which will be clearly disclosed to you prior to payment.

5.2. Payment Facilitation. All payments are processed through our third-party payment gateway. Lawyer Wala is not responsible for any payment disputes or for financial arrangements made between Users outside of the Platform.

5.3. Cancellation and Refunds. Cancellation and refund policies are determined by the individual Lawyer. Lawyer Wala is not responsible for issuing refunds, and any such requests must be directed to the Lawyer with whom you contracted.

6. Intellectual Property

6.1. Platform Content. All content, trademarks, logos, and software on the Platform are the exclusive property of Lawyer Wala or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Platform without our express written permission.

6.2. User Content. You grant Lawyer Wala a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, host, and display your User Content solely for the purpose of operating and providing the Platform services.

7. Limitation of Liability and Indemnification

7.1. Limitation of Liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lawyer Wala shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising out of your use of the Platform or the services provided by Lawyers. Our platform is provided “as is” without any warranties.

7.2. Indemnification. You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Lawyer Wala and its officers, directors, and employees from any claim, demand, loss, or damage arising out of your breach of these Terms or your use of the Platform.

8. Termination

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Platform, with or without notice, for any violation of these Terms.

9. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Bangladesh. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved exclusively in the competent courts of Dhaka, Bangladesh.

10. General Provisions

10.1. Changes to Terms. We may amend these Terms at any time by posting the revised version on the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

10.2. Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

10.3. Entire Agreement. These Terms and our Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and Lawyer Wala regarding your use of the Platform.
